1. This is a community-organized unofficial contest. No prizes are guaranteed. In fact, nothing is guaranteed. This is simply a means to give a group of friends the same goal and have fun and improve ourselves.
  2. Every contest will create a game for Windows or Linux that will run on the computer specifications listed below. He or she will submit only the executable file with manuals. A setup file is recommended.
  3. The games must be submitted before the submission deadline.
  4. Techical: The source code does not have to submitted.
  5. The entry must include some form of manual or at least a readme. You may use any common document format (TXT, PDF, HTML, DOC, CHM), but PDF is recommended.
  6. The entry must support the taking of screenshots. Unless an entry provides an alternative mechanism, it is assumed that pressing the print-screen key will take a screenshot of the game and save it to the clipboard. If an alternative mechanism is provided, it must be clearly documented in the manual.
  7. Entrants are both allowed and encouraged to use 3rd party libraries, engines, and middleware to develop their entry, provided that whatever they use permits unrestricted distribution of the resulting entry executable.
  8. Entrants may be individuals or teams, with no limit on team size.
  9. There is no size limit on entries, but please be reasonable. If your entry is bigger than 200 MB, please consider reducing the size.
  10. The entry should not qualify for an 'AO' rating from the ESRB.
  11. There is no minimal age. Even if you are 13, you can participate.
  12. The entry will have to be in English or, if it isn't, should be intuitive enough not to require any language.
  13. Multiplayer games are permitted.
  14. Elements: The entry has to implement all 4 elements in one way or another. All elements need to have a significant presence in the game.
  15. Judging: The judging system has yet to be determined.
  16. The prizes will be distributed to the winners. The email address and full name provided in their account will be given to sponsors.
  17. Since this document does probably not fulfill the legal requirements of law, this contest does not follow all the niceties the law requires. I, as the contest organiser, am not responsible for the delivery of prizes.
  18. This part (Judging) of the rules document will be modified once the judging system is clear. So far, know that the games will be judged according to the criteria below and that either a professional jury will judge all the entries or contestants will be able to vote and provided feedback for other entries.
  19. Final: The contest rules may be modified during the course of the contest and the contest may be closed at any time without prior notification. I don't suppose this will happen but all rules of all contests usually include this phrase, so I add it, too.
  20. All games submitted will be available for all to comment and download.

Computer specifications:

The specifications are not absolute. They provide you a rough idea of the machines where your game should be able to run. Since there is quite a lot of judges and every one has a different computer, there cannot be a unified specification.
  • Personal Computer, 2.0 GHz or higher, 512 MB RAM or higher
  • Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP or Linux. The entrant can choose the operating system where his game will run. Virtual computers or live CD can be used by judges if they do not own the selected operating system.
  • Software under Windows:
    • Web browsers.
    • Java. Flash.
    • DirectX 9.0c, on some judging computers DirectX 10.

Software under Linux will be handled by the package manager.
